October is Ending...

It's the last day of October.  Red and gold leaves cover the ground, apples and pumpkins are everywhere, and this evening dozens of children will start knocking on doors to ask for candy.
October has been pretty amazing.  And busy.  And now it's almost over.

So, what have I been doing during this beautiful month?

This October...

I completed my first online college class!

I took an English class through duel-enrollment with a local college.  If you haven't heard of duel-enrollment, it's basically taking college courses while you're still in high school.  This was a great learning experience for me - I wrote about six papers in eight weeks, so LOTS of writing.

I started this blog!

I've wanted to have a blog for a long time, so I'm really happy to finally have one.

I worked on plotting my novel!

Yes, my novel.  The one that mainly exists in my mind and in the form of jumbled ideas.  But - I finally spent some time brainstorming - and changed the entire plot.  Hopefully I'll post about it soon...

And poetry... Lots of poetry...

Also something I hope to post more about.

I went to a barn dance. And two corn mazes.

Some of our friends host a barn dance every year.  I square danced with my friends for hours.  In a barn filled with Christmas tree lights.

And corn mazes are pure October. =)

So, October has been pretty busy.

School, writing, dreaming, frantically practicing for basketball - which starts in a week, more school, youth group, wandering through new books, writing poetry, etc. etc.

I'm hoping that I'll be able to post more in the next several weeks, but... well... sometimes life happens.

I hope you had an amazing October.  And good luck to my fellow bloggers participating in NaNoWriMo - I'm not able to join you this year, but I'll be cheering you on from the sidelines! =)

Blessings!

- Madeline Joy

  1. Sounds like you had fun!

I've never been to a barn dance, and we have haystack mazes instead of corn mazes here! XD

    1. We just have corn mazes where I live, but haystack mazes sound fun too! =)

    2. They are pretty fun! The maze's walls are haystacks stacked on top of each other, and people often climb on top of them and jump from one wall to the next, which is a bit dangerous, but the kids are light and have fun doing it.

    3. Oh, wow! That's something you can't do in a corn maze - people tend to cut through the corn sometimes though. It's not nearly as exciting as climbing on top of the walls. =)

I love playing basketball when I can! although I'm not on a team or anything.

  12. Hello Madeline Joy. I am a Pastor from Mumbai, India. I am glad to stop by your profile on the blogger and the blog post. I am also blessed and feel privileged and honored to get connected with you as well as know you and your dream to write stories that would open the eyes and change the hearts of the people as well as to see the broken people are restored and also has interest to work against human trafficking one of the social evil. It is good to go through your October accomplishments. I am quite impressed to have such passion and desire in this young age. I love getting connected with the people of God around the globe to be encouraged, strengthened and praying for one another. I have been in the Pastoral ministry for last 38 yrs in this great city of Mumbai a city with a great contrast where richest of rich and the poorest of poor live. We reachout to the poorest of poor with the love of Christ to bring healing to the brokenhearted. We also encourage young and the adults from the west to come to Mumbai to work with us during their vacation time. With such passion and desire, we would love to have you come to Mumbai with your friends to work with us as well as capture the live stories of life in the slum in your words that will help others to get involved in restoring the brokenhearted. Looking forward to hear from you very soon. God's richest blessings on you, your family and friends. My email id is: dhwankhede(at)gmail(dot)com and my name is Diwakar Wankhede.
